Folding Screen | S16 E2 *
The folding room screen is an attractive alternative to divide a room or to seal off an unwanted view of a computer, a TV set, or perhaps a heating radiator. This handsome three-fold hinged screen is built of traditional raised panels. Norm uses mahogany, which is stained to enhance the beautiful wood grain and then sealed with hard-wearing polyurethane.

Butterfly Table | S16 E1
Переглядів 6 тис.7 годин тому
Norm revisits Old Sturbridge Village and discovers an old table built by a colonial furniture maker more than 200 years ago. The "Butterfly" table gets its name from the graceful drop leaves and the wing-like supports that hold the tabletop straight. This versatile table can also be used with the leaves dropped or even with just one lowered to allow placement next to a wall. The table is built ...

Norm finds a handsome dark wood French side table in a private collection on Nantucket. Made of dark hardwood, probably walnut, this single drawer original is straightforward to make; even the curved legs are easily managed in a well-equipped shop. Best of all, its elegant style and good proportions will fit nicely in any room of your home and suit many purposes. Season: 15 | Episode: 12 Origin...

On this program Norm builds a beauty out of mahogany that will lend substance and elegance to a simple metal frame with a mattress and box spring. Again with help from Leonard's Antiques and Jeff Jenkins, Norm finds some interesting variations on this popular alternative to a full bed frame. Norm builds this headboard, sized fo...

Sheep Shearing Coffee Table | S15 E2 *

How about a coffee table that once served as a portable platform to shear the wool from sheep? We're not sure how well it worked at that task, but Norm reinvents it as a handsome platform for books, plants, puzzles, canapes, and all the other things that clutter today's coffee tables. This is definitely a conversation piece. Made of recycled pine, this unusual table is easy to make and comes wi...

I understand wanting to protect your content, but seeing people who had recorded it from the tv and uploaded it, most were not claiming it was their own work but they had lost episodes and the original commercials which made you feel like it was Saturday morning watching it on an old zenith tv.... man im old😂

Before we use any power tools, let’s take a moment to talk about shop safety. Be sure to read, understand, and follow all the safety rules that come with your power tools. Knowing how to use your power tools properly will greatly reduce the risk of personal injury. And remember this: There is no more important safety rule, than to wear these, safety glasses.

Great to see you Norm. I’ve got a little shop full of some really great tools, along with many half finished projects, stacks of wood cut offs everywhere (because I’m afraid I might need them one day) and I haven’t had the health or the time to do anything. However I go back and watch all the various series you helped with and feel like I’m getting something done…have a great day!

When this show first aired, the plans for the many projects used to be in a bin at the front counter of most woodworking stores and if you wanted to take one or two they were free. They were on a heavier weight paper and they would make their money selling the videos that matched. I have a few of them like this router build, a baby’s cradle and some others. They stopped giving them out for free after a couple years but the plans were very accurate and easy to follow. I still have this router table and it should last another 30 years. I made some improvements for the dust collection. My only concern is my 3hp Porter Cable router might eventually die and that will really hurt if that happens. New Yankee Workshop was a great show and its host Norm was the perfect match to encourage people to get busy and build.
